For regular categories, WordPress automatically generates archive pages, meaning that you can go to https://demo.wprecipemaker.com/category/recipes/ to see a list of all the posts in that particular category.
By default, the recipe taxonomies do not have those archive pages but they can be enabled on the WP Recipe Maker > Manage > Your Custom Fields > Recipe Taxonomies page. In this screenshot, we’ve enabled that option for both courses and cuisines, for example:
Because of that, you can now go to https://demo.wprecipemaker.com/course/cocktail/ to get an automatic archive page of all recipes with the “cocktail” course and clicking through will go to the parent post of the recipe.
The /course/ slug can be changed on that same Manage page (you can see it in the last column of the screenshot) and any of the term slugs (like “cocktail”) can be changed in the term column on the WP Recipe Maker > Manage > Recipe Fields page.
Changing the output of the archive page
The output of an archive page is handled by your theme. We do have some options on the WP Recipe Maker > Settings > Post Type & Taxonomies > Archive Pages page to try and alter this output, but this won’t work for all themes.
If you simply want to add a description to archive pages you can do that by enabling the default WordPress UI for these taxonomies.
Automatically linking to the archive page
Want your visitors to be able to click on any term inside of the recipe card to go to this archive page? That’s possible by enabling those settings on the WP Recipe Maker > Settings > Links page.
